The Australian government in Moscow said one of its citizens in Russian captivity is still alive.
Last year, Oscar Jenkins, a 32-year-old teacher, was captured as a result of the fight for Ukraine.
“The Australian government received confirmation from Russia that Oscar Jenkins is alive and is in custody,” Foreign Minister Penny Wong said in a statement on Wednesday.
Earlier there were reports that Mr. Jenkins was killed in captivity, and the Australian government referred to “serious problems” for his well -being.
