If ever there was a wake-up call, this is it. The fire alarm is going off – hell, the fire alarm is on fire. The latest data confirms this 2024 was the first year where the global average temperature was 1.5 °C higher than the pre-industrial level, breaking the totemic limit established by the Paris Agreement (see “2024 confirmed as first year to break 1.5°C warming limit”).
