After years in power, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was ousted with surprising speed.
On Saturday afternoon, it became clear that the rebels, who have already captured Aleppo and Hama, are closing in on Homs and are also eyeing the capital, Damascus.
Just a few hours later, it was reported that Assad had taken off on a plane.
