The restored Notre Dame Cathedral will soon reopen in Paris – five and a half years after a fire devastated the Gothic building.
On Friday, French President Emmanuel Macron visited the cathedral to mark its imminent reopening, launching a program of ceremonies that will culminate with an official “entry” into the cathedral on December 7 and the first Catholic mass the following day.
The results of the €700m (£582m) renovation have been shrouded in secrecy until now, with only a handful of progress pictures released over the past few years.
