Cynthia Erivo is a Grammy Award-winning singer, but she still gets nervous when it comes to showing off her pipes…admitting as much on camera.
We caught up with the “Wicked” star at the ABC studios in New York on Wednesday, and our photo asked her about a live, impromptu duet with the actor. Ariana Grande “TODAY” … when they sang Chaka KhanFor the movie “I’m Every Woman”. Hoda Kotb and: Savannah Guthrie.

Cynthia says she still gets nervous every time she sings… and this was no different live broadcast.
Despite the nerves, Cynthia and Ariana hit it off with their acapella cover of Chaka’s hit … explaining the song “Every Woman” they can’t help but sing along to when they’re around each other.

We also had Ariana in the Big Apple this week, where she was attacked by fans while leaving NBC.
Ariana graciously signed autographs — mostly Wicked merchandise — and posed for photos with fans before getting into her black SUV.
Wicked hits theaters next week, and people clearly can’t wait to see Cynthia and Ariana sing on the big screen.
