A man is now being hailed as a ‘local hero’ after a video of him breaking down a door to get four children to safety went viral on social media.
Daniel Burge was trapped at Whitby English School in Payporto, Valencia, with his children, one of whom was his 11-year-old daughter, unable to get upstairs as the road was flooded.
In the end, he managed to break down the door of a nearby building and pull the children to safety.
The local media hailed him as the “Hero of Pairporta”.
