Declan Rix…
“It’s a trap race but I wanted to fight those at the top of the market. Golden Ace is obviously a winner at the Cheltenham Festival last season. can he advance for this competition?
“At the price I was stuck between Thunder Rock and Lucky Place, but given that they run at similar weights, Thunder Rock is the better horse of the two. He’s got form here at Ascot, winning over fences there a couple of seasons ago. He’s one of these horses who jumps fences really well, but on softer ground and on those bigger tracks. he can get a little stuck.
“He’s back here over hurdles and has freshened up well in the past, but if he runs that hurdle rating he’s a good bet.”
Kate Tracy…
“I’m back Blueking d’Orouxnot just because the owner loves Ascot but the horse loves Ascot too. He won this race last year and I don’t think the renewal this year is that strong, it was a run by him and he’s so good. is proceeding on this path.
“The fact that Harry Cobden chose to go down this track instead of going to Haydock. He weighed worse last year and he just wanted to enjoy the occasion, obviously taking a big step forward it seemed, I just thought that everything was perfect for him on Saturday.
Sam Boswell…
“I’m looking at this race in a completely different way because I really like Jeremy Scott’s race. Golden Ace and I think he’s a big price I suppose the downside is the win at Cheltenham and you could argue with Brighterdaysahead and the Willie Mullins horse that the race went in Lorcan Williams’s favor and maybe it was a soft win for the horse. He was a winner in his first start of the season before and after the break, so I’m not worried about his first outing.
He’s undefeated over hurdles, I just think there’s more to come from him and I really think he’s an exciting prospect. I went through the race and I couldn’t be more excited for a lot of people here and he could be a real superstar. “.
