A man named is seen in the footage Mike Jones sitting in the back of his Waymo ride that won’t stop spinning through the parking lot.
Mike calls Waymo customer service to report the problem, saying he’s in danger of missing his flight… but the rep can’t stop the car in its tracks… and Mike continues to drive in circles.
It’s funny… Mike wonders if he’s being pranked and he says it feels like he’s in a sci-fi thriller.
After all, Mike says his Waymo drove him for 8 laps… and he ended up missing his flight.
Mike claims he has yet to be compensated for the missed flight, citing Waymo’s lack of compassion and neglect with a customer service department that is fully automated and run by artificial intelligence.
The experience seems to sour Waymo for Mike … the next time he needs a ride, he says he’s going to keep it old-fashioned with Lyft or Uber.
Waymo, which is run by Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc., is still fairly new to the taxi industry … and it’s clear that there are still some kinks to be ironed out.
