Internet sleuths believe they have found the jacket of the gunman who killed the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Brian Thompson … and now it’s sickeningly flying off the shelves.
One user on Reddit speculated that the suspect’s jacket was a Levi’s Sherpa Stripe Two-Picket Hooded Trucker Jacket sold at Macy’s for a retail price of $225.
The jacket’s popularity has since gone viral on the company’s website … with more than 6,000 people viewing the jacket at one time and nearly 700 sold in the last 48 hours, according to a product popularity tool on Macy’s website.
As you know, it was Thompson fatal shot Wednesday in Manhattan … and the nationwide manhunt for her killer continues.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenney told reporters on Friday that detectives were looking into the possibility of a gunman being used veterinary gun … a larger gun commonly used on ranches and farms, but the gun has not been recovered.
However, the backpack suspected of belonging to the shooter was there found in Central Park. As TMZ reports, the backpack appears to be Everyday backpack From Peak Designs … a bag designed for serious photographers, but also designed for casual use.
We’ve reached out to Macy’s about the jacket…no feedback yet.
