UConn’s gift of a live goat Geno Auriemma Animal rights activists were outraged Wednesday night … according to PETA TMZ Sports the scene was not cool at all.
Officials with the organization said in a statement to Us on Thursday that it was obvious to them that the goat was forced because the handler brought it to Harry A. Gampel Pavilion Court to celebrate Auriemma’s 1,217th career victory.

PETA claimed the goat was “visibly distressed” and, to make matters worse, said its handler “either didn’t notice or didn’t care that its collar had dug into its neck.”
Org. said it would send a letter to UConn later this week urging the school to “make the last of this brutal courtroom scene.”
“The University of Connecticut cannot congregation people think it’s okay to subject a stressed animal to the chaos of bright lights and screaming fans,” PETA added.
UConn clearly didn’t see anything wrong with the gesture … as Auriemma and other Huskies happily spent a few minutes with it after an 85-41 win over FDU.
Auriemma stroked it. spectators took pictures with it … and the coaching legend even joked about his bowel movements.
As for what happened to the goat after the festivities, school officials told us Thursday that it was returned to the local farm it was borrowed from right after the court party.
