Tyler PerryHe’s sick to his stomach following the coverage of the Los Angeles fires … and he finds the ability of insurance companies to cancel policies on a whim “appalling.”
The actor-producer took to Instagram early Sunday morning to post a… video of a woman staying in a mandatory evacuation zone trying to save her parents’ home because their fire insurance was voided, leaving her shaken to her core.
A local ER nurse was doing everything she could to save her 90-year-old parents’ home in Hastings Ranch as the Eaton Fire ravaged the property.

Perry asks if anyone else “finds it appalling that insurance companies can take billions of dollars from communities for years and then suddenly be allowed to cancel millions of policies for the very people they’ve enriched themselves with.”
Perry, one of the most generous celebs around, adds that she’s now looking into what she can do to help the people of Los Angeles … so expect a donation and maybe more to help with recovery efforts.
As you know… insurance companies are under increased scrutiny as firefighters continue to battle the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, most notably State Farm, which canceled more than 70,000 home insurance policies last year.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, this cancellation included more than 70% of the homes in the affluent Pacific Palisades area… an area that was mostly completely destroyed by the Pacific Palisades wildfire.
The fires have also raised concerns about an insurance crisis in California … with fears that insurance companies will no longer issue policies amid the increased risk of wildfires.
It looks like Tyler Perry is openly questioning the insurance system … and many Californians will be doing the same in the coming months.
