Tom Brady On Tuesday, he opened up about his personal life … openly admitting to a room full of strangers that he hasn’t been the greatest father in the world to his three children.
The former NFL superstar made the revelation while speaking at the 2024 Fortune Global Forum in New York.
Brady was asked how he motivates his 17-year-old son. Jack — with whom he shares Bridget Moynahan – and his other young son and daughter, Benjamin and: Vivian — with whom he shares Gisele Bundchen — and she wanted to make it clear to the audience that she was by no means the OTHER to parenthood.
“Every parent in the room knows that being a parent is probably the hardest job of all of us,” the former quarterback said, “and we’ve screwed up a lot.”
“And I’ve screwed up a lot as a parent,” she added.
Brady, however, went on to say that he’s certainly trying his best to be as good a father as he was as a signal caller … sharing with the crowd that his No. 1 goal is simply to be as “consistent and reliable” as he can be to them in life.
She also noted that she wants to be extremely supportive of her children’s endeavors, no matter what hobby or profession they choose.
“The blessing my parents gave me,” he said, “when I was a kid as a freshman backup quarterback, they never said, “I’m going to be a kid.” “Man, don’t do that. It’s going to be hard. Let’s think differently. They kind of said: “You know what?”
“And that’s probably my parenting style.”
Brady said that’s his approach lately with Jack, who despite a small vertical leap wants to be an NBA player.
“I want him to know that his father is back,” Brady said.
The 47-year-old ended the conversation by explaining that he knows his kids will have to face further challenges along the way because of his fame … but he fully plans to “be there to support them.”
“And,” he continued, “I’ll be learning along the way right there with them.”
