Southwell host Qazaq as he looks to remain unbeaten, Mojomaker and Tan Rapido are in opposition again, while the Superbolt headlines for Nigel Twiston-Davies at Hereford.
7.30 Southwell – Invincible Qazaq presents Roger Varian
Kazakh offers to remain undefeated BetMGM. It’s a showtime handicap (7.30).
Roger Varian’s three-year-old was a smart winner at Kempton on his second start after a long break. His opening 89 may not be enough to stop him. He looks set to extend this unbeaten streak.
The Crisford’s Great Job has previously won over this distance but last time out over this trip and distance he was made favorite and finished fifth in a competitive race. He should be able to improve as long as he drives the surface.
Lion of War must withstand the high weight, despite the difficulties of recent times. His last run at Kempton showed flashes of his old talent and he could bounce back.
7.00 Southwell – Mojomaker and Tan Rapido square off again
Mojomaker How to change applications back So fast in Extra winnings with BetUK Acca Club Handicap (7.00).
David Loughnane’s Mojomaker put in an impressive performance as he stayed strong to finish fourth last time out against rival Tan Rapido. He was back on track after a setback and he should continue to improve here.
Tan Rapido was also returning from a previous outing. Teaming up again with Rob Hornby, he was able to take another win.
Dutch Kingdom has been pretty consistent this season and won at Chelmsford last time out. He faces a 6-pound weight gain and for that he commands respect and should be in the mix.
2.25 Hereford – Superbolt titles for Nigel Twiston-Davies
Moodofthemoment: collides with Superbolt in The Sunshine Radio Handicap Chase (2.25).
Matt Sheppard’s Moodofthemoment won over course and distance last time despite making a few mistakes. He doesn’t need to be discounted to go well again.
Superbolt is still looking for his first win, but he has shown promise after finishing second in his last two starts. In his last start at Ludlow, he ran into an improving horse. He estimates significant risk, especially with the age weighting premium.
David Noonan’s Mt Fat Sam should go well as he is a bit back from the trip after last day’s runner-up effort.
