Rain is falling in the Northeast on Thursday morning, and eleven states are to be thankful for.
Forecasts for the Thanksgiving parades in New York and Philadelphia are on track for periods of rain and drizzle with temperatures in the 40s and wind chills of 10-25 mph.

Most of the major cities northeast of I-95 will see a rainstorm, but the wet snow will mix further inland.
Winter alerts are being sent from Pennsylvania north to Maine, with a chance of up to a foot of snow in the higher elevations today.
Time limit
For cities like DC, Philly, and NYC, it will be primarily a morning rain event, with some slow improvements expected later today.
The rain should taper off by noon in the Mid-Atlantic, with Philadelphia likely ending around noon.

New York City could hold off on the rain until around 2:00 PM, while Boston sees the end of the rain closer to sunset around 5:00 PM.
Parts of northern New England, especially Maine, will see rain and snow overnight before conditions improve.
After this storm passes, the coldest air of the season will fill much of the country.

Due to this cold air passing over the relatively warm waters of the Great Lakes, many Lake Effect snow warnings and winter storm watches are in effect. It looks like the first of the significant Lake Effect Snow events of the season.
The forecast calls for 3 to 4 feet of snow in parts of western New York through Monday.
The heaviest bands of snow remain south of Buffalo, but things could get interesting for Sunday night’s 49ers/Bills game with snow all around.
Elsewhere, the weather remains calm this weekend, but a chilly forecast is in store for dozens of states in the eastern part of the country as temperatures begin to feel much more in line with the upcoming winter season.
In the West, warmer than normal temperatures are expected as we head into the first week of December.
