Ted TurnerThe CNN founder is being treated by medical experts as he recovers from a bout of pneumonia that landed him in the hospital … TMZ has learned.
Turner’s rep tells TMZ … the legendary media mogul has been recovering in a Florida rehab facility after a recent hospitalization, the rep tells Us, suffering from a “mild case of pneumonia.”
A rep says Ted is “expecting a full recovery.”
This update comes more than 6 years after the media mogul revealed during an interview Ted Couple On “CBS Sunday Morning,” he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia.
At the time, Ted described a number of symptoms he was struggling with…including exhaustion and forgetfulness.
For those unfamiliar with LBD, progressive brain disease is the 2nd most common type of dementia; the first is Alzheimer’s disease. In fact, in a 2018 interview, Ted expressed gratitude for not being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s … noting that LBD “isn’t nearly as bad.”
Ted, who famously married his third wife, an actress Jane FondaHe is best known for founding the first 24-hour cable news channel in 1991, before he divorced her in 2001. The prominent philanthropist also founded the TNT and TBS cable networks.
Ted’s rep tells us he remains “resilient and busy with professional and personal matters.”
