Sylvester Stallone might want to retire from acting and focus on painting full-time… “Because one of his pieces was auctioned off for AIDS research and made nearly half a million dollars.
The actor and his family hosted a gala last night at The Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas in support of amfAR, the famous AIDS foundation, and Sly brought along a picture… Stallone’s multi-colored original.
Watch the video … the auctioneer asks if one of the warring bidders wants to join the current bid. sitting at $410K!!!
The buyer turns down the opportunity… and sells it to another as the crowd applauds loudly.The camera quickly flashes to Stallone’s face, who looks so excited that his work could be up a ton for the big cause.
Check out the artwork for yourself, called “Knocking Heads” … full of bright greens, yellows and reds with faces lost in thought, and Sly’s character as Rocky Balboa.
If you don’t know… Stallone has been painting for years, so this isn’t a new creation, but it’s still a lot for someone who doesn’t paint for a living.
Stallone received an award at the gala, from Tommy Hilfiger and his wife Dee:. We’re told the event went well and was incredibly profitable for the organization.
BTW … Sly seems to be in a giving mood as he also auctioned off a spot on the Tulsa King next season which went for another $300k.
Stallone may be a member of The Expendables, but his philanthropic contributions were underwhelming.
