Everton have sacked manager Sean Dyche after just one win from their last 11 games, leaving them one point above the Premier League relegation zone.
Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman will take charge of the FA Cup third round tie against Peterborough on Thursday night.
The Toffees are 16th in the Premier League and did not register a single shot on target on Saturday. 1-0 loss to Bournemouth – their eighth defeat in the league this season and they have failed to score in eight of their last 10 games.
Dyche was appointed Everton manager in January 2023, guiding the club to Premier League survival with a last-day victory over the Cherries.
The 53-year-old then kept Everton in the top flight last season despite the team having eight points deducted from their total for two separate breaches of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
“Club left in limbo after slow reaction to weekend result”
Sky Sports News’ Vinny O’Connor at Goodison Park.
“We knew Everton’s new owners were assessing the situation after the defeat at Bournemouth at the weekend. We knew they had spoken to other potential replacements, particularly Graham Potter.
“Dychy had until the summer to run out of his deal and the ideal scenario would be for a safe pair of hands to see out the season, retain their Premier League status and then reassess in the summer.
“But recent results, one win in 11 league games and eight clean sheets, means they’ve decided the only way to turn things around is to get a new manager.
“The club, however, is in limbo as the owners were not quick to back Sean Dyche or make a decision on his future after the weekend result against Bournemouth.
“It gave West Ham a chance to steal a march on them and get a deal that was attractive enough for them to sign Graham Potter.
“Now Everton’s managerial search begins again. We know that Everton have been troubled, the style of play, the lack of goals, their forward line with (Dominic) Calvert-Lewin only two goals and 15 clean sheets.”
The sad statistics of “Everton”. alarms sounded during a bad attack

Their defeat by Bournemouth was the second time this season they failed to even get a shot on target, again the worst record in the Premier League.
Everton’s points have returned to just 3 wins from 19 matches this season, comparable to the starts to the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons by his predecessors Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard, who were both sacked in the near future. this phase of the campaign. Dyche has now joined them in cutting his deal.
