Seahawks defensive tackle Byron Murphy II He almost had a panic attack after taking his teammates out to dinner this week … when his fellow Seattle players picked up a $155,000 tab before discovering it was a hoax.
The Seahawks had one last matchup before their Week 18 matchup against the LA Rams … hitting up Ascend Steak & Sushi to spare everything they could get their hands on, plus some expensive booze.
When it came time to pay, the players presented Murphy with the damage…showing him a fake receipt for $155,000.
His teammates really sold it… reacting in utter shock as his eyes doubled over. Several exclaimed “Oh, s***!!”
In the end, Murphy was let in on the joke…and handed the REAL tab, just over $38,000.Still not cheap, but a lot better than what he originally thought.
The first-round pick signed a four-year contract worth $16 million with the Falcons … so while he has some money, it’s nice to know he’s not $155K richer now.
