Savannah Guthrie is letting everyone know it’s a new era on the Today show — like humor — after Hoda Kotbdeparture of and Craig Melvin taking his seat on the sofa.
Guthrie and Melvin sat down with the host Jimmy Fallon on his late-night show Thursday and talked about Kotb’s high-profile departure from the morning show after nearly 18 years.
Guthrie told a funny little tale about how he tossed all of Hoda’s “s***” after Kotb officially left the show last Friday.
Savannah said she got rid of a bunch of Hoda’s trays that were filled with weird stuff, claiming there were things like expired beans and a belly button, and it was all pretty “disgusting.”

As you know, Savannah has co-anchored Today with Hoda since 2018 after Kotb took over. Matt Lauer when he was fired over sexual harassment allegations.
