Roy Jones Jr wants to do what? Mike Tyson could not … test Jake Paul‘s chin in the boxing ring.
That’s what the 55-year-old legend told Babcock on TMZ Sports TV show (broadcast nightly FS1:) … weeks after the former champion called the fight Jake vs. Mike for Netflix, which was watched by more than 100 million people.
“I don’t think Mike checked his chin at all,” RJJ said. “So I didn’t mind a shot to see if I could get to his chin, check his chin.”
Jones, who fought Tyson at the 2020 show (a card that also happened to have Paul on it), broke down the fight with us, explaining that Mike’s legs just weren’t there on the night of the 15th.
Basically, Roy says he’s glad Iron Mike got the briefcase.
As for El Gallo’s abilities in the ring, Jones Jr. praised the 27-year-old fighter.
“Jake’s not a bad puncher,” Roy said. “I don’t think Mike was really trying to take too many risks. He knows the older we get, the harder it is to take (a punch).
Jones added: “But for me, eh, I have to go see.”

Roy, 66-10, last fought in April, losing to the former UFC star Anthony Pettis. Since then, he has been busy training several young fighters.
In fact, five of those boxers will step into the ring on December 12th at the Yakama Legends Casino Event Center in Washington (the event will be broadcast on BLK Prime if you can’t make it in person)… and Roy will be in their corner, literally.
RJJ will also serve as the commentator for the event… great double duty.
Jones Jr. introduces his fighters and gives a little scouting report… and it’s clear he gets more satisfaction from his fighters’ success than he does for himself.
