For those times when you need a chocolate fix but don’t love the idea of making a whole cake, try this recipe Dark Chocolate Chili Cupcakes! Dark chocolate is mixed with a little kick of cayenne for a deliciously spicy treat. You will find yourself doing these again and again. If you’re sensitive to heat, add a dash of cayenne or substitute cinnamon for an equally delicious result. Once everything is mixed, they are microwaved in just over a minute.
These cakes are delicious on their own, but you might also like a little powdered sugar, whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for serving. A drizzle of caramel sauce would be divine!

Dark Chocolate Chili Cupcakes
These mug cakes are perfect for when you need some chocolate in your life but don’t want to make a whole cake. Cayenne adds a little kick to this sweet and spicy dessert that you can make in small batches. Try substituting cinnamon if you’re sensitive to spice.
The ingredients
- 1 the egg
- 3 spoon the milk
- 3 spoon butter, melted
- 1/4 little spoon vanilla extract
- 4 spoon sugar (try half white, half brown)
- 1/4 the cup all purpose flour
- 2 spoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 little spoon baking powder
- 1/8 little spoon espresso powder (optional)
- 1/8 little spoon the salt
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 spoon chocolate chips (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS

Grease two bowls. Then, in a small bowl, beat the egg, milk, butter, vanilla and sugar well and set aside.

In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, espresso powder, baking powder, cayenne and chocolate chips. Mix well with a fork.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet. Mix well and then divide the egg between the two bowls. Microwave one at a time for 1 minute and 15 seconds or until the top of the cake is dry. Remove from microwave and let cool for 1-2 minutes. (Note: The buns may fall apart after cooking. This is normal.

Serving suggestion: Dust with powdered sugar, whipped cream or ice cream before serving. Enjoy!
