Pete Davidson and: Colin JostThe decommissioned Staten Island Ferry is headed to Hollywood… as their vessel will be featured in the upcoming Steamboat Willie horror movie.
Production sources tell TMZ … “Screamboat” was filmed entirely on Pete and Colin’s bright orange raft.
The indie horror film takes the OG Mickey Mouse character and throws him into a horror film. Steamboat Willie now in the public domain So it’s all kosher, and our sources tell us so much fake blood was used on set, they had to hire a special cleanup crew for Pete and Colleen’s Staten Island ferry.
TMZ got hold of some photos from the shoot … and you can see the puppeteer placing Steamboat Willie in various parts of the ship.They started filming in May and finished over the summer.
Our sources mention the director Stephen Lamorte always dreamed of making a movie on the Staten Island Ferry… and the producers were able to make it happen… thanks to some local connections.
In fact, we’re told the film’s producers are from Staten Island, and they contacted Pete and Colin’s people to pitch the idea and got permission to use the ferry to film for the movie.
Obviously, Screamboat has been greenlit, but we’re told Pete and Colin’s involvement doesn’t go beyond using their raft as a location.
“Screamboat” stars David Howard Thornton from Terrifer as Screamboat Willie and will be released in 2025.
