England opener Ben Duckett scored his fourth Test century before the tourists were crumbled by Pakistan’s spin-heavy attack on the second day of the second Test.
Duckett and Zach Crowley (27) shared a quick-fire 73-run opening stand in reply to Pakistan’s first innings total of 366 for an unpredictable Multan wicket.
However, Pakistan’s Sajid Khan (4-80) tore through England’s middle order before the end of the game, which saw the visitors lose four big wickets of Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook and captain Ben Stokes for just 14 runs, with the latter departing. just for one to leave England 127 runs back.
Jamie Smith (12) and Brydon Carsey (2) helped steady the ship on the spin shield, adding to a cautious unbeaten stand of 14 runs to guide England to 239-6 at stumps.
Resuming the second day on 259-5, Pakistan’s Noman Ali (32) and Aamer Jamal (37) put on a 49-run stand for the ninth wicket that brought the hosts to respectable parity and made England’s bowling attack work hard for everyone. 10 wickets.
Senior spinner Jack Leach (4-114) starred with four wickets with the ball, while Carse (3-50) and Matthew Potts (2-66) also contributed.
Pakistan will look to wrap up England’s middle and lower order on day three, it will continue Sky Sportsto ensure they have a lead ahead of their second innings where they tend to collapse as they did in the first Test.
