He declared himself a Republican after winning a state Donald TrumpDemocratic governor-elect Josh Stein said his service as attorney general instilled confidence in North Carolina voters and called the Tar Heel state a “bright spot” for Democrats on election night.
Stein told ABC’s “This Week’s” Jonathan Karl that Kamala Harris ran a “strong campaign” but was hampered by a tight timeline and a “tough national mood.”
“It was a miserable night for Democrats across the country, but North Carolina was a bright spot,” Stein said. “And we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished here.”
