The FBI said Shamsud-Deem Jabbarwho drove his pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street on New Year’s Day, visited the Big Easy for at least 2 days in October and filmed himself riding his bike through the French Quarter with Meta smart glasses.. the area where he was supposed to carry out the attack for months after
Authorities said Jabbar was wearing Meta smart glasses the day he carried out the attack, but he did not activate the glasses to record the horrific act, which left 14 people dead and several others injured.

The FBI said at a press conference that the Army veteran, who pledged allegiance to ISIS, began staying at the New Orleans rental home in late October 2024.
According to the FBI, Jabbar was also in New Orleans on November 10, based on information provided by the public. The feds say they are still gathering details about that trip.
