I have written quite a few natural hair care articles over the years. Recipes such as nourishing conditioners and Herbal hair treatments For healthy hair. However, healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. This hair growth oil helps nourish the scalp and is great for anyone dealing with hair loss and breakage.
I originally wrote this recipe for men who may be experiencing hair loss with age. However, many women look for hair products to improve the health of their hair. In addition to styling, tight hairstyles (such as tight braids), heat styling tools, thyroid problems, androgenetic alopecia, and pregnancy can contribute to hair loss.
More than half of women experience hair loss at some point. You may not even have thin hair but want to grow long hair.
After pregnancy, I started trying natural ways to encourage hair growth for myself. I found that this hair growth oil is also effective for men who want to avoid hair loss. No matter who you are, if you notice that your hair isn’t as thick as it used to be, there are natural options.
Promote healthy hair growth
Like everything else, the foundation of healthy hair is a healthy diet. Nutrients like biotin and collagen help keep all hair types healthy and strong. Experts recommend Focus on B vitamins, vitamin C (for collagen production), omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins D and A.
And if you have an iron deficiency, this can play a role. Iron is important for healthy blood circulation to the hair follicles. I try to get as many nutrients as I can from whole foods, but supplements help fill in the gaps. Adequate nutrition can help reduce hair breakage, receding hairlines and split ends.
Moisture and minerals are also very important. If you experience dry hair, irritation, or a dry scalp, you may need to drink more water. You can read my recipe for drying Mineral drink over here.
Oil treatment for hair growth
If your locks need some extra TLC, a natural scalp treatment can do the trick. There are various natural oils that promote quick and easy hair growth. Some popular options include almond oil, argan oil, coconut oil, and jojoba oil. For people with alopecia, vitamin E can help reduce oxidative damage to the scalp and promote hair growth.
Although there are many options, in this recipe I use:
- Powdered oil – It is used as a poultice in medicines like castor oil packs. I have used it to thicken/lengthen my hair. and eyelids. It not only prevents hair loss but also increases hair growth. My hair grew 1.5 inches in one month after using it twice a week!
- Black seed oil – Black seed oil It has many benefits but it is especially good for hair growth. It helps treat some fungal infections that lead to hair loss, and helps prevent hair loss in the first place. You can use it internally or externally, try a small amount on the skin of the inner arm first before using it on a larger area. Black seed oil can irritate some people.
- Rosemary oil – Known for its ability to stimulate hair growth, rosemary is often added to hair growth treatments. and shampoos. Adding a small amount adds a pleasant aroma and increases the effectiveness of the recipe by reducing swelling and stiffness.
- Lavender essential oil – It is also good for skin health and hair growth. Black cumin seeds and rosemary help to infuse the scent to create a refreshing scent.
Tea tree and peppermint oil are also useful but I have not personally used them in recipes. You can add a few drops of tea tree if needed to help with dandruff, dirty scalp or any fungal problems. Peppermint helps stimulate the scalp and increases blood flow for hair growth.
Optional olive and cayenne oil
Cayenne helps increase blood circulation and is a folk remedy for hair loss and muscle soreness. If you want to incorporate it into your hair growth oil, it’s easy to inject. Here’s what you need:
- Add the ingredients to the top of the double burner and cook for about an hour.
- You can also do sunlight. Simply leave the cayenne and oil in a glass jar in the sun for a few days.
- Strain the cayenne and use the oil in your hair growth oil recipe.
Natural hair growth oil recipe
A combination of oils that promote hair growth, such as castor oil, black cumin seed, rosemary and lavender.
Product: 3 oz
-
Combine all ingredients in a dark glass bottle. A brown dropper bottle can be used, but I use a black cumin seed bottle again. It has a special myron glaze that protects the oils from spoiling for years.
-
Wet hair and massage 10-30 drops (or ½ to 1 teaspoon) into scalp.
-
Leave for an hour or overnight and wash. I recommend using it at night and sleeping with a towel on the pillow to avoid oil pollution.
-
Use once a week or as needed to increase hair growth.
Test the oils on a small inner arm before using on the entire scalp. Do not use if it causes any reaction or sensation. Black cumin seed oil can irritate the skin of a small percentage of people with sensitive skin.
