Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi, 84, was hospitalized while overseas on a congressional delegation, her office said Friday.
“While traveling with a bipartisan delegation of Congress to Luxemburg to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi was injured during an official engagement and was hospitalized for evaluation,” said spokesman Ian Krager. statement
“Speaker Emerita Pelosi is receiving excellent treatment today from doctors and medical professionals,” the statement said. “He continues to work and regrets not being able to attend other CODEL engagements to honor the bravery of our service members in one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history.”
“Speaker Emeritus Pelosi extends her thanks and praise to our veterans and the people of Luxembourg and Bastogne for their service during World War II and their role in bringing peace to Europe,” Krager added.

Eighteen House members are part of the delegation, according to House President Mike Johnson. On Friday and Saturday, they were due to take part in commemorations of the anniversary of the key World War II battle.
Other lawmakers on the trip include Republican Rep. Michael McCaul, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Mark Takano, the ranking member of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs.
Pelosi was re-elected to her California seat in November, securing a landmark 20th term.
