Braelyn Rankins — the voice of young Mufasa in the upcoming prequel to Disney’s The Lion King. was on TMZ Live on Thursday for an interview … and she tells us she knew limited information about the movie when she filmed her part. .
Rankins tells us that aside from the actors he’s personally worked with, he had no idea who was going to be in the movie … so there was no indication that he’d be playing alongside. Beyoncehis daughter Blue Ivy, Thanks Newton or similar.
Braylin says he read parts of the script and kind of knew big names like Bay would be returning to reprise his role as Nalai from The Lion King, but it wasn’t until the trailer came out in April. that his suspicions were confirmed.
“Mufasa” has been a long process for Rankins, who first auditioned for the film in 2020 and finally got to see the film on two separate occasions recently.
Braylin says he never saw the full script during recording… so actually seeing the film all the way through shed some light on some of the plot details.
Braylin plays young Mufasa in … father of Lion King protagonist Simba, voiced by the late, great James Earl Jones in the original animated film and the 2019 live-action film Braylin’s Sister Brielle Also provided some lines for the character.
Aaron Pierre plays an older version of the character … meanwhile Calvin Harrison JrBlue Ivy Carter, Mads Mikkelsen, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Keith David, Donald Glover and have more parts in the film.
“Mufasa. The Lion King” will appear in theaters tomorrow, December 20.
