Microsoft has announced that the first “topological quallog” has created. The manner of stocking quantum information will be a new generation Quantum computers. Machines Based on topology It is easier to build easier than competitor technologies, as they should protect information from noise. But some researchers are among the claims of the Skeptical company.
The announcement was the press release of February 19 in press releases with few technical details, but Microsoft says that some of his data selected specialists reported to specialists in his research center, Santa Barbara, California. “Should I bet they are watching they are watching in my life? It’s pretty good,” says Steven Simon, the theoretical theoretical physicist, which was aimed at the University of Oxford, the UK.
At the same time, the company published intermediate results, but no proof of the existence of the Quik Topological – on 19 February Nature.

Topological states are collective status of electrons in a material that is resistant to noise, while many of the two links in a string can be rotated or rotated.
A Nature The paper describes “Nanowire ‘indium arsenity experiments for the superconductive device superconductor. The last goal is to host the two topological states called Majora Zap Zonpartikaat each end of the device. Because the electrons in a superconductor will be paired, an extraordinary and unique electron, forming an exciting state. This electron is in a state of ‘delocilize’, which is shared between two major quastiparticles.
The Nanowire is reported by Nanowire, which provides Nanowire, providing an extra electron. These tests “do not, inherently” nanowire guarantees that Majorana quasiparticles meet two hospitals, warns the authors.
According to the press release, the team has made two nanowiro matching experiments and has put it in the superposition of both states. First Nanowire with an extra electron, and the other in the second nanowire. “We have built a doubt and we have shown that the parity only measured on two parallel threads, but the measurement of two wires makes you bridges,” says Microsoft researchers Chan Nayak.
“There is no Slam Dunk not know immediately” by saying that incidents are made by topological states. (The Majorana State was created, made by a group financed by Microsoft based on Delft He retreated in 2021.) The final evidence will come after the expected expected after the device is expected.
Early forecast
Some researchers are critical to publicly announce the probabilities that the company’s options are released without releasing specific evidence. “If you don’t connect to this photo, why don’t you wait until you have an extraordinary publication material?” Says Daniel losses, Swiss physicist at the University of Baseline. From the Quitbit operation, there is not many comments, “says Georgios Katsaros, physicists from the physicist of the Science and Technology Institute of Science and Technology.
“We are committed to publishing publications in our research properly while supporting the company’s IPA (intellectual property),” says Naya.
Microsoft has also shared the pathway to scale its topological machines and show quantum calculations2. Vincent Mouk, Jülich, the physicist of the German Helmholtz Research Center, who helped their worries lead to earlier retroaction, is the skeptical of the whole concept. “Basically, according to the majority of Mortasoft, the approach to building a quantum computer based on the topological quilits will not work.”
“As we make more sizes more, it will be more difficult to explain our results with non-topological models,” says Nayak. “It will not only be the only moment when everyone will be convinced. But the explanatory explanation will be more and more tuning.”
