A man in California walked into a gas station and walked out a billion dollars richer… they just didn’t know it until last night.
Here’s the deal… A Mega Millions player in the Golden State won a jackpot of nearly $1.22 billion, ending the lottery’s three-month drought of no top prize winners.
The lucky duck purchased the life-changing piece of paper at the Sunshine Food and Gas station in Cottonwood, located in northern California, about 146 miles north of Sacramento.
The winning numbers were 3, 7, 37, 49, 55 and the golden mega ball was 6. — the ultra lucky ticket holder matched all six numbers to win the 1st out of 302,575,350 chance of winning the top prize.
The as-yet-unidentified billionaire can claim annual payments of about $1.22 billion … or opt for a one-time cash payment of roughly $549.7 million.
According to the CA Lottery website, 2 tickets were sold that matched 5 numbers minus the mega number, winning $787,543, not too shabby.
As you remember… in November 2022 Edwin Castro won $2.04 billion via Powerball winner … and picked up a $25.5 million mansion in the Hollywood Hills, where he supposedly chills with his model girlfriend.
Of course, only time will tell what the new winner will do with cashing out their loads.
