It is expected that “Milan” will officially apply to “Manchester United” regarding signing a contract with striker Marcus Rashford.
Milan adviser and Rashford’s former team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken publicly of his desire to talk to Rashford about a move.
Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the player, but a move could be too problematic for them due to the wages, however, United have maintained a positive relationship with Dortmund by signing Jadon Sancho on loan last season.
Sancho’s transfer worked for all parties. he performed well at Dortmund and understandably United paid back his full wages during his time there.
Rashford’s camp have held talks with a number of European clubs to explore terms of a deal, with United’s preference believed to be an outright loan should they let him leave.
Rashford was again left out of the squad for Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Arsenal, which United won on penalties.
When asked if Rashford played his last game, United head coach Ruben Amorim said: “I don’t know. We’ll see.”
While United admit they will have to pay a significant chunk of Rashford’s wages, they will look to encourage the establishment to ensure the deal works for them.
Rashford prioritized Walker. Why can’t AC Milan sign both?
Rashford is AC Milan’s priority over Kyle Walker in the January transfer window Heaven in Italy.
Pep Guardiola confirmed at the weekend that Walker and his representatives were “exploring” his options after telling sporting director Tchiki Begiristain that he wanted to move abroad Heaven in ItalyAC Milan have made a bid for the defender in the event that Fikayo Tomori leaves the club, but his move has been blocked by the arrival of new manager Sergio Conceicao.
It remains to be seen if this time could be different and if the Rossoneri will try to sign Bayern Munich, having also been interested in the past.
AC Milan can only sign one English player due to current Serie A regulations.
Serie A clubs can register up to three non-EU players and one player from Great Britain or Albania per season if they do not have current EU players in their squad.
If they already have one or two non-EU players, they can bring in a maximum of two more non-EU players.
If they have more than two non-EU players, they can buy two more non-EU players, but one of them must have played for their national team in the previous 12 months.
Milan could only sign two new non-EU players this season due to the places already occupied.
They did so in the summer with Emerson Royale from Tottenham and Strahinja Pavlovic from Red Bull Salzburg. This means Milan only have one extra place for a British (or Albanian) player.
Even if they sell a non-EU player, they still can’t sign another UK-based player. That’s one slot per registration period (season).
Leo will undergo a medical examination
The latest from Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth.
Diego Leon will undergo a medical today ahead of Manchester United’s summer pre-contract agreement.
Leo arrived in Manchester yesterday.
With the deal completed, the 17-year-old will return to his current Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno for the rest of the season.
The left-back/left-back position is problematic for United given the injuries Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malasia over the past 18 months.
As a result, they continue to monitor Nuno Mendes’ situation at PSG.
Talks over a new contract in Paris have so far not been resolved, and his current deal is set to expire next summer.
Relations with PSG are said to be good after United signed Manuel Ugarte in August.
“Betis” and “Olympiakos” are interested in Antoni
Real Betis and Olympiakos have both made inquiries to United for Antony.
The Brazilian winger came on as an unused substitute in the penalty shoot-out win over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.
United will consider offers for Antoni. the most likely deal would be a loan, with Betis looking for a winger having just sold Asean Diao to Como.
