lawyer Tom Dickey said he was being held for Mangione’s representative, and he answered questions from reporters Tuesday afternoon in his Altoona, Pa., office. during an early court hearing.
“I haven’t seen any evidence” that Mangio was the shooter, Dickey said. “He pleads not guilty, that’s all I care about.”
Dickey said he was employed “some time before today’s hearing” and it is unclear whether he was appointed by the court or hired. “No…I can, but I won’t.”
Luigi Mangione is reportedly accused of fatally shooting the CEO of UnitedHealthcare Brian Thompson Early Wednesday morning last week in Midtown Manhattan.
After a 5-day pursuit of an unnamed suspect, Mangione was arrested Monday at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, when a customer recognized him from a widely circulated suspicious photo and an employee called police.
Officers found Mangione dining at a restaurant … with evidence allegedly linking him to his self-inflicted murder last week, including a gun, a fake ID and handwritten manifestoreports the police.
