Luigi Mangioneis the accused murderer Brian Thompson murder case, took time out of a vacation in Thailand to visit a shooting range…a decision that now stands with some of his travel buddies.
Two German tourists who traveled extensively in Asia with Luigi in the months before the shooting look back on their interactions with Mangione in our new TMZ Investigates documentary: “Luigi Mangione. the mind of a murderer”.
Luigi’s traveling companions, Paul: and: Max:tell us that Mangione pulled back from a beach in Thailand to go to a shooting range instead… later telling them it was expensive. But that’s not the only weird thing Luigi did around German tourists.
Paul and Max tell us that Luigi was obsessed with a book by an Indian author Jash Dholani“Backlash. new ideas from old books” … so much so that Luigi bought 400 copies and flew to Mumbai to meet Dholani and give him feedback.
The book may offer clues as to why Luigi became so radicalized that he allegedly shot a healthcare executive…but our documentary also explores Luigi’s obsession with a second book about corporate greed…which motivated his murder.
What becomes clear in our document … health care was not Luigi’s concern … he was more concerned with corporate greed … and watched The American health care system as a prime example.
Our upcoming documentary also explains why Luigi didn’t have any specific healthcare experience that led him to allegedly fire the CEO of UnitedHealthcare…rather, Luigi had signs of mental illness…which makes for an interesting defense at trial :
TMZ investigates “Luigi Mangione. killer’s mind” premieres tonight at 8pm on 7 Central on FOX.
