Lizo The harassment case brought against him resulted in a major legal victory, at least for him as an individual…but his tour company is still facing serious claims.
Here’s the deal… On Monday, a judge dismissed the former backup dancer’s claims Asha Daniels v. Lizzo as an individual. ruling that such claims could only be brought against Daniels’ corporate employer, not Lizzo as an individual.
In essence, the judge found that Lizzo could not be held personally liable for the harassment alleged in the lawsuit.
However, that only applies to Lizzo himself…and his company Big Grrrl Big Touring has yet to deal with the lawsuit.
So some good news for Lizzo’s personal accounts … but BGBT Inc. is not out.
Remember … last September, Asha filed a lawsuit claiming she sometimes had to work 20-hour days while working as a make-up artist on Lizzo’s tour, she says she was eventually fired before her contract was up.
Daniels also claims she was made to listen to racist and fat-phobic comments while working on the tour.Lizzo has denied all claims made against her.
We’ve reached out to Lizzo about the layoff…no word back yet.
