Kim Kardashian supports the governor of New Jersey Phil Murphy for his advocacy, which he says played a key role in his decision to release the inmate Dawn Jackson: … after she served 25 years for stabbing a man she claimed had sexually assaulted her.
Governor Murphy, who commuted Jackson’s 30-year sentence to 5 years, thanked Kim drawing attention to the case … explaining in a Monday X post that after reviewing Dunn’s “unimaginable trauma and sexual abuse” he felt his original sentence was too harsh.
Murphy not only published an article about Kim’s role in helping Don, but also emphasized that Don took responsibility for his actions and served his time without further incident. it was time for him to get the second chance he truly deserved.
Kim re-shared Governor Murphy’s post on her IG Stories, adding the message… “Thank you Governor Murphy for your compassion. So happy dawn will be home for the holidays.”
Jackson fatally stabbed his step-grandfather in 1999, and he said his public defender told him to plead guilty to first-degree murder presented in court.
NJ.com reports Jackson is set to be released from prison this week … and will be under parole supervision until March 2029.
It’s a huge win for Dawn and for Kim, who has been championing Dawn’s release since 2018, but this isn’t Kim’s first rodeo. She’s been on a mission to free the wrongfully imprisoned for years, including on the case Alice Marie Johnson.
