Judy GarlandThe iconic ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz have found a new home, selling for a record $32.5 million over the weekend!!!
The slippers, worn by Judy in the classic 1939 film, are one of only four surviving pairs made for the film.
The slippers were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 2005 and have been missing for more than a decade.
The sale shattered the previous records held for Hollywood memorabilia Marilyn Monroe‘s Seven Year Itch dress, which sold for $4.6 million in 2011.
While one pair of ruby slippers sits at the Smithsonian, the other three, including the pair sold at auction, are in private collections.
