Joe Manganiellobirthday cakes this year were very familiar to his girlfriend, Caitlin O’Connorbought his sweets from a bakery frequented by his ex-wife, Sofia Vergara.
Bakery sources tell TMZ … Caitlyn ordered 2 cakes for Joe’s birthday from Cake and Art Bakery in West Hollywood, CA ahead of his 48th birthday … which certainly raised eyebrows considering given the history of Sofia’s hot spot.
We’re told the cakes, which cost a total of $400, each had their own design and flavor.The first dessert was an edible 3D Steelers helmet made of chocolate cake with mocha filling.
The second cake, consisting of funfetti vanilla with lemon filling, was shaped like a t-shirt and had the name “Manganiello” engraved on the back.
For those of you who may not know, Joe is famously from Pittsburgh… so the Steelers theme is a perfect fit for the True Blood alum’s big day.
Caitlyn’s sweet gesture seemed like a page straight out of Sofia’s playbook, though… because it’s no secret that the Modern Family star is a frequent owner of the bakery.
Sources tell us that Caitlyn has definitely seen an earlier photo of Joe with his son. Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, near the bakery … it is famous in front of the store and in the center, there is no way to miss it!!!
However, we’re told the staff didn’t make the situation awkward at all, choosing not to publicize the layered situation.
Sources say Caitlyn handled it all well too… not only was she polite to the staff, but she had a huge smile on her face while taking the order. It’s clear she was just happy to make her man happy on his birthday… as they say, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!!!
Joe and Caitlyn went public with their relationship in December 2023 … months after the actor and his ex-wife announced their plans to separate and divorce.
Since then, Joe and Caitlin have been inseparable…even recently taking JM’s dog on vacation to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Looks like a perfect match.
