Procession of the former president Jimmy Carter began in Georgia… his home state, where he died this week at age 100.
The 39th president’s flag-draped casket began its journey to Washington, D.C., passing through his hometown of Plains on Saturday.

AP:
Former Secret Service agents who protected President Carter served as pallbearers when the march originally began at Jaycee’s Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
A private service will then be held Saturday at the Carter Center in Atlanta, where the former president established his presidential library.
The public will be able to pay their respects at the Carter Center until Tuesday … from there, Carter will travel to Washington for a service for lawmakers, followed by a national funeral at the Washington National Cathedral.
As we reported, the Carter Center told TMZ that the former president … died Sunday at home surrounded by family. He was the longest serving former president in history.
