“My friendship with Jimmy Carter taught me … the strength of character is more than the title or the power we have. It’s the strength to understand that everyone should be treated with dignity, with respect. Everyone — and I mean everyone deserves the same shot,” Biden said.

“We have an obligation to give no sanctuary to hatred and to fight what my father said, the greatest sin of all – the abuse of power,” Biden said, as all former presidents looked on. “It’s not about being perfect, none of us are perfect. We’re all fallible.”
“Jimmy Carter, throughout his life, showed us what it means to be a practitioner of good works and a good and faithful servant of God and people,” Biden said.
