Martin Katz – a famous jewelry designer who has made pieces for some of Hollywood’s biggest names has been stolen…thieves took handbags worth millions of dollars.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ … Katz returned to her home just after 10:30pm Tuesday to find her window broken, saying multiple items had been taken.
We’re told the thieves made off with a ton of high-end bags … including Hermès collector’s items, some of which cost several hundred thousand dollars each.
Police showed up at the home and searched the property for the thieves, but we’re told they were long gone.
However, some of the bags they took were equipped with traces … so the police were able to find the bags and they arrested two men on suspicion of carrying out the theft.
Law enforcement sources say the two suspects were part of a South American crew that flies around the world, robs homes, then hops on a plane and flies home.
As we mentioned, Katz makes jewelry for some of the biggest stars in the world, having created custom pieces in the past. Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, Kate Winslet and much more.
“Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” star Josh Flagg is close to the Katz family and issued a statement on their behalf, saying that Martin and his wife. Kelly:went out to dinner alone while their house was being ransacked.
Flagg says Martin got a call from his security company that an alarm had gone off at his home and guards were already responding.
When they arrived, Flagg said, the burglars were flying out of the master bedroom with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of personal property.
Police SWAT teams were called in and arrived within minutes, combing the house to find that Martin’s suitcases were missing, Flagg said. found in downtown Los Angeles, which led to the arrest of the suspects.
