Deadly wildfires in Los Angeles have destroyed homes and businesses this week… and the massive fires have also disrupted local ecosystems to an alarming degree.
Jeff Corwin tells TMZ … right now, the focus of the fires is on the dying people and the charred houses, but the “unprecedented disaster” has also affected domestic and wild animals.

The famed biologist host notes that there are only 350 California condors in existence… “and a significant portion of the population lives in ground zero of the Palisades fires,” so there’s a chance they could be nearly wiped out.
Bears and mountain lions also inhabited the burned areas, and JC says that means those that weren’t killed or seriously injured could move onto land for food, water and shelter… possible is to cause dangerous interactions with people.
There’s a chance as residents return to burned areas to check on their homes that they may encounter injured “large predators” and want to help… but Jeff says that’s a bad idea. In that situation, be careful and call the proper authorities .

The fires also killed or displaced thousands of dogs, cats and horses. JC advises people trying to find their lost pets. the animal will most likely return to their former home area…so leave food, water and a small camera.
Several organizations and shelters help affected people who own pets, including Jeff Brady Hunter Foundation … which donates $31K and matches donations to facilitate the needs of pets.
