Jason Oppenheim Not “selling off into the sunset,” he’s opening his wallet for the Los Angeles fire and police departments…writing a big check amid the catastrophic wildfires ravaging the city.
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … the head of the Oppenheim Group has donated $100,000 to be split between the LAFD and LAPD due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
Jason tells TMZ he’s motivated to bring attention to the fundraising needs of these essential first responders. He tells us the city of Los Angeles needs to refocus its budget plans … noting that there’s nothing more important than community safety. prioritizing, especially when money goes to fruitless passion projects.
He calls California’s high-speed rail system … a planned bullet train to connect Los Angeles to San Francisco. will pass
For example, state officials explained in March 2024 that the stretch between Bakersfield and Merced would cost about $35 billion to build.
As Jason sees it, this money could fully fund the LAFD and LAPD, easily doubling their respective budgets for decades. and in rescue operations.
Jason highlights how the city has had to borrow from other states, Canada, and Mexico during this terrible ordeal… adding that the city will be in a much better position in the future if it invests the dough proactively.
To say things are tense here in the City of Angels is an understatement.
