Jake Paul hyper-focused on his mega-fight Mike Tyson … but the troubled child also has an eye to the future and an inevitable correspondence with the adults Canelo Alvarez!
And Paul, 27, says that when the day comes when the two men face off in the squared circle, Jake will be all for just being there… ’cause he’s going to win it.
“Everything I’ve said has come true and why Canelo, you know, should be up at night because I’m coming for him,” Paul said. Babcock on TMZ Sports TV show (broadcast nightly FS1:).
“The fight is going to happen and I will win and shock the whole world. And this is me talking about it now.”
For the people who will no doubt mock Jake for the previous statement, he had a message.
“People will sit there and listen to that and say, ‘Wow, he’s crazy.’ But I was crazy when I said I’d have the biggest fights when I won Tyrone Woodley, Anderson Silvaall these things. So you’re crazy until you haven’t been.”
But, first things first… Paul has a determined Tyson coming to try and knock off his block in five weeks.
We asked Jake if he thinks to himself, oh crap, I’m fighting Iron Mike.
“Definitely. Moments of uncertainty, especially moving up in the heavyweight division where (Tyson) has the weight advantage and all that. He’s crazy powerful and I know he’s serious about it.”
As for Mike’s health (remember, the big fight was originally scheduled for this summer, but has been postponed after MT had a medical issue), Paul says Tyson is healthy and ready to go.
“It’s Mike Tyson or nothing,” Paul said, “but first of all, he’s healthy and he’s feeling great and he’s doing great in camp.”
