Despite the streaming issues … tons of people from all over the world flocked to Netflix to catch up Jake Paul and: Mike Tyson throw down Friday night, an estimated 108 million people tuned in to the fight.
Paul and Tyson became the most televised sporting event ever, according to Jake’s Most Valuable Promotions, with 65 million worldwide simulcasts…
The fight reportedly had an average minute-by-minute audience of 108 million live…that number jumped to 125 million over the weekend.
And it wasn’t just the main event that set records… ’cause Kathy Taylor and: Amanda Serrano now holds the record for the most-watched women’s sporting event in history, with 74 million viewers watching KT’s controversial decision victory.
The event was also the number one television show in 78 countries on Friday night, including the US, UK, Mexico and India, among other places.
Given the recent viewership numbers, it’s no mystery why many Netflix viewers had trouble streaming the fight.
The streaming giant will now have a month to iron out tech issues before airing two NFL games on Christmas Day.
