A massive house explosion in Missouri over the Thanksgiving weekend left a residence in ruins and injured six people inside, according to fire officials.
The explosion at Jefferson City’s St. It happened on Louis Road at 2:44 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a press release from Jefferson City Fire.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, authorities said.

Emergency officials said of the six people injured in the explosion, two were taken to Jefferson City Airport and one was taken to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The other four people were taken by land to the University Hospital.
Three of the victims are listed in critical condition and are on critical life support, Cole County EMS Chief Eric Hoy told ABC News’ Missouri affiliate. KMIZ.

The other three have moderate injuries and are stable, the outlet reported.
Photos released by officials show the house was almost completely leveled by the explosion, and responders said they found six people in the rubble when they arrived.
“Rescue operations were particularly difficult due to the extensive collapse of the structure and significant debris,” Jefferson City Fire said in a statement.

“The team had to carefully tunnel through layers of debris to reach the last occupant, who required intensive extrication,” the officials added.
By 5:52 a.m., all six people were safely removed from the residence
Additionally, firefighters said in the release that two pets were rescued from the collapsed home and are now under animal control.
