As a member of the House, John Curtis, D-Utah, showed a willingness to stand up to his party.

Now the senator-elect, who will take the seat vacated by Mitt Romney’s retirement, says he is not afraid to disagree with the president-elect. Donald Trump if he needs

In an exclusive interview on ABC’s “This Week,” Curtis told anchor Jonathan Karl that he wants Trump to be a “tremendous success” and said he supports his desire to tackle inflation and the economy. But he also made it clear that he does not agree with Trump’s approach.

“I think it’s very important to me and my constituents that I feel comfortable speaking up (with dissent) in those moments,” Curtis said. “I have my head, and I’m not a rubber stamp. My seal is the seal of the state of Utah.”

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
