A federal judge in New York on Friday denied former New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez’s bid for a new trial.

It was Menendez condemned charges that he was accused of corrupting his office, but he argued that the evidence did not support those accusations.

The judge disagreed.

“The jury’s guilty verdict was easily supported by the extensive witness testimony and extensive documentary evidence admitted at trial, and there is no manifest injustice requiring a new trial,” Judge Sidney Stein ruled.

A federal jury in Manhattan found the New Jersey Democrat guilty of all charges, including bribery, fraud, acting as a foreign agent and obstruction, after a two-month trial in July.

Federal prosecutors said he accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, gold bullion, mortgage payments and more in exchange for the senator’s political power.

He will be sentenced next month and faces decades in prison.

Menendez he resigned from office in August, after the conviction.
