President Donald Trump released David Heitema as Director of the U.S. government Ethics on Monday (OGE).
OGE is in charge of supervision of executive ethics programs, including “avoiding financial conflicts” efforts. He named the former president of Huitema Joe Biden and sworn in the 2024 elections to the victory of Trump.

David Heitema, the former head of the government ethics office, will discuss his release. Let me know if you need anything.

ABC News’ Linsey Davis spoke with Huitema with a sudden removal of work on Wednesday.
ABC News: Tonight, a group of former government clocks presented the president of Trump President Their termination challenge. Inspectors contribute to the general defense, veterans, education and more.
Monday, President Trump shot the Director of the Government’s Ethics Office. Government staff meet the requirements of interest and ethics.
The Senate David Heitema confirmed in December for a period of 5 years and was only two months ago, two days ago, it ended. He joins us tonight.
Thank you for your time, Mr. Huitema. So the office you worked is an independent agency that was working to avoid conflicts of interest in the government. Are these guards now removed?
Heitema: Well, I know that public public servers are still committed to the government’s ethics and the authority of the Ethics Authority and committed to protecting these values of integrity.
But certainly these caregivers have been weakened. There is a real change in the view; I would say, organizations, special consulting office, government ethics office – with the air of independence and authority to talk without agenda, you know, right and directly protects the rules of the law and government responsibility.
ABC News: So American public branch enlargement candidates do not violate the rules of ethics and are complying with law?
Hetuma: Well, we will have to see. You know, it’s interesting – I was caught by surprise, of course, at the end of my. And my greatest feeling is one of the disappointments. I signed up in five years of commitment and committed to seeing that.
And I knew that I was willing to work in multiple administrations and be prepared to serve good faith, too. And we got a good start.
The need for candidates for cabinet positions, for example, has happened in the same way that happens in the past. And they were able to do them, ending at a faster rate than ever.

But we are entering a new phase, right? As the officials are actually involved in their positions and when actions are being carried out as government workers, when we are entering this period of time, there can be a substantive concern for ethics and integrity.
And my sense is that the President does not want a government ethic office to take these issues seriously and talk to them.
ABC News: Are you worried about the possible conflict of interest in Elon Musk because it takes a unprecedented role in the supervision of government?
Heitema: Well, I don’t want to talk to certain people. And, you know, in terms of ELON MUSK and DOGE (government efficiency department), we don’t know what it really does. So I’m not in any detail and I don’t have to share what to share.
But what challenging is the perfect example of the private sector to become a change in investment and financial interests to go to government and adapt to expectation change, change in the rules.
ABC News: I find a noticeable question, but humorous is humor here for a moment, why do you think government caregivers are important?
Heitema: Well, I think they are a couple of reasons. Although mostly focused on the inside, I will probably recognize that it is probably not to listen to the government’s office, but they contribute to the tone to respect the state of law, committing the rules of the law and a commitment to public service. have the responsibility of this public service.
Since these organizations are worn, people do not see immediately, but in time, you can expect to see more corruption, more office abuse and less responsibility for that. The guards will reduce the way you deal with these types of notes and issues.
And in the end, I think it’s a great deal of concern in the long run, if it persists, the change in culture is very difficult to reverse.
ABC News: David Heitema, Thank you for your time. Appreciate it.
Heitema: Thank you.
