“Joker. Folie à Deux” was always going to be a flop, and even the cast members knew it… this, according to one of those actors.
Tim Dillon – the comedian, who stars in the critically maligned film, stopped by The Joe Rogan Experience earlier this week … and during a three-hour discussion, they chatted about TD’s new box office bombshell.
Joe Rogan experience
Dillon is unequivocal here … literally calling the film “the worst movie ever made,” saying he thinks the creators behind it got cold feet when film critics reacted to some of the themes of the first film.
TD basically says he thinks the filmmakers over-corrected… “because they didn’t like their movie being called out for portraying male angst and being popular with the insel community; Joaquin Phoenix with tap shoes.
Dillon talks about sitting down with other actors in small roles and often asking out loud what’s going on with this movie. He says others were shocked because the film didn’t seem to have a plot… adding that it will definitely do well at the box office.
Dillon plays an Arkham Asylum prison guard in the film, which he totally nailed bomb at the box office, earning just over $200 million worldwide. The first film grossed over $1 billion and earned Phoenix his first Oscar.
Critics hate the movie too… the movie gets only 32% on the review aggregator Rotten tomatoes.
Maybe next time the filmmakers should ask the actors what they think.
