The feds are working with local law enforcement to investigate burglaries at the homes of Kansas City stars. Patrick Mahomes and: Travis Kelce … TMZ learned.
Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell TMZ … The FBI is assisting the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in investigating the Mahomes incident and is joining forces with the Leawood Police Department to investigate Kelce’s crime.
The FBI getting involved means this is a pretty big deal, and not just because Patrick and Travis are famous athletes.
Our sources tell us the feds would NOT get involved if this was a local mill heist…and the FBI’s involvement here suggests the case may involve organized crime crossing state lines.
TMZ broke the story … Patrick had his own luxury estate in Belton, Missouri to rob Around midnight on October 6, Travis Leawood’s Kansas City home was broken into on October 7, shortly after the start of the Chiefs’ Monday Night Football game. Taylor Swift was in the city.
We obtained the police report from the burglary at Kelce’s home, which states that her back door was damaged and $20,000 in cash was taken. It is unclear what was taken from Patrick’s home.
Patrick and Kelce aren’t the only victims here … we’re told the FBI is also investigating other home invasions in neighboring neighborhoods.
A spokesman for the Kansas City FBI office said they would not confirm or deny the bureau’s involvement in the investigation.
Meanwhile, Patrick and Travis have not publicly commented on the incidents … at least not yet … although they’re sure to be asked about it later this week when they go in front of NFL reporters.
